Here are some apps that you can get for your Apple device (iPad/iPhone/iTouch) - we use many of these apps at school too!
Number Pieces Basic

Students can use the number pieces (singles, rods, and flats) to represent multi-digit numbers, count, regroup, add, and subtract. The drawing tools allow students to label representations and show their understanding.

Visual writing prompt & creation platform with multiple ways to respond and the ability to create custom photo prompts. Free version provides more than 50 leveled text & voice prompts and the ability to try the custom prompt creation and digital publishing tools. Paid version includes 125 categorized images & 375 text and voice prompts included.
Animoto
Cost: Free
This app is both fun and educational because you can make short movies using the photos on your device. This app lets you choose what photos you want to use, the music, and text and then formats it into a video that you can post and share on social networking sites or through email.
Easy Bib
Cost: Free
Citation generators are the most updated and preferred method of generating citations. Students can scan the ISBN barcode of most books and reference sources and get a properly formatted citation in MLA, APA, or Chicago style instantly that can be emailed to you for copying and pasting.
BrainPop
Cost: Free Version or $1.99/$6.99 Subscription
Most NISD students are probably familiar with BrainPOP because they have seen a video from this website at some point. This great little app plays the movie of the day and allows for a quiz. Instead of playing a game, flip on a BrainPOP and learn something new!
Sock Puppets
Cost: Free
Create your own videos by adding puppets, props, scenery, and backgrounds. Press the record button and the puppets automatically lip-synch to your voice.
Doodle Buddy
Cost: Free
Use your fingers to draw or write in a variety of styles and colors; includes multiple backgrounds, sticker options, and ability to create text boxes.
Pic Collage
Cost: Free
Use photos from camera roll or take photos in the app to create a collage; includes multiple backgrounds, frames, and ability to create text boxes. Allows for multiple collages to be stored in the app.
Tellagami
Cost: Free version or Paid version
Create a “gami” (virtual character) and record your voice or type text that the gami will repeat; includes multiple character and background.
Educreations
Cost: Free
Creates a video by turning the iPad into recordable whiteboard. You can either create slides before recording or as you are recording. Allows for voice recording, and includes realistic digital ink, photos and text that can be inserted.
30Hands
Cost: Free
Create slides from photos from camera roll or by drawing and typing within the app. The slides can be dragged around the desktop to change the order of the story. Voice recordings can be added to each slide individually. Each slide can be edited individually.
